Liberty Track Layout

The Liberty sprint kart track held the first races in 1960. The current track layout was formed and re-paved in the 2000. Currently there are plans for a new track surface in 2010.

The track is a 6 turn 1/5 mile, 1080 ft asphalt sprint kart track. The track is run in both clockwise and counterclockwise directions. Running in both directions offers two completely different tracks to race.

The Liberty track is a tight "drivers" track which makes it an excellent learning track for youth, beginners and even seasoned racers. Liberty is not a flatfoot, biggest-motor-wins track. The track's tight turns and short straights teach patience, planning and skill in order to pass.

This track offers many of the turns you may encounter at any other kart track across the country. The straight away is 325 ft. to the apex of the sweeping turn 1. When combined, the two straights before turn 2 is 530 ft.

Turn 1 is a wide sweeping turn that most karts and drivers can take at full throttle. Turns 2 and 3 are tight near 90 degree turns. A good set-up and entry into turn 2 is important for a smooth exit in turn 3. Turns 4 and 5 are known as the esse turns. The esse turns are where smooth drivers can either gain thier lead or close the gap. The final turn, know as the hairpin or turn 6 can be the most critical turn for fast lap times. The hairpin rewards drivers that can keep engine RPMs up when racing clockwise and also rewards those that brake late when going counterclockwise.
