KCKA Board Meeting Minutes from July 12

Next Board meeting August 2 at 6:00 pm at Denny's on Front street

1. Driver's meeting notes reviewed and items added
A. Add info on Year-End picture CD - Pictures to Dave Winslow
B. Ask if we what "race" fast times on Race Results

2. Dave Winslow to print out New Track Record certificates to be handed out at the Driver's meeting
A. If you have a past Track Record and want a certificate need to ask & one will be printed for you

3. Still need to find a number of people to learn to do scoring at the races
A. If 5 or 6 people learn than they only have to do an hour or so at 1 or 2 races

4. Still using the practice of people working the track corners when their racers class is on track
A. Track workers not responsible for getting karts back on track if they go off
B. Track workers will push karts back on if they are just stuck in the grass & not broken

5. Track work day. Saturday, July 24 at 9:00 am until work is done
A. Add dirt around the track where needed at the hairpin and old track cut through
* Need someone to run the Bobcat to move dirt
* If not done will have to run Clockwise again
B. Mow grass, weed eat, use leaf blower on the track
C. KCKA rules requires members to work 3 work days in order to get Year-End points

6. Jeff Stuart brought the Nationwide & Sprint Cup race tickets for the KS Speedway Oct 2 & 3
A. Will have 2 separate raffles for the ticket packages
B. 1st package = 2 Nationwide NASCAR tickets & 1 Perferred lot parking pass
* 1st package will be $10 per raffle ticket
C. 2nd package = 2 Sprint Cup NASCAR race tickets, 2 "Track Pass" tickets & 1 Perferred lot parking pass
* "Track Pass" allows you to do the Fanwalk and pre-race festivities in the infield.
* 2nd package will be $20 per raffle ticket
D. Tickets will be sold at the KCKA race on Sunday July 25 & Sunday Aug 29
* Board members may sell tickets at other times also
E. Drawing will be at the KCKA race on Sept 19 and you do not need to be present to win
F. Dave Winslow to add information on the raffle to the KCKA home page

7. Kiersten Koch will take care of the NKA insurance needs after the races

8. Would like to get a KCKA brochure produces to be able to hand out to potential members

9. Discussed the possiblity of having 9 or 11 board members next year
A. Treasurer is still needed
B. Any member can be a Board member - No special requirements needed

10. Vintage Race at the race on Sunday, Sept 19
A. Group of Vintage kart racers from Des Moines would like to race
B. Dave Winslow to add information concerning the Vintage race to the website
* Dave is going to make a flyer to hand out at Fairfields and Russells

11. Dave Winslow is going to do the KCKA Year-End picture DVD
A. Get pictures to Dave anytime during the year if you want it on the DVD

12. Lisa Earls is going to get with Rodney to work on the electrical at the post in the pit area

13. Still may need a person to do the Registration at the August 29th race

14. Flagman
A. Mike got with Jim Williams and he is going to make it Sunday, July 25

15. Concession Stand
A. Madison is going to do the concessions on Sunday, July 25?
B. Insurance bands will be done by the concession stand once qualifying starts

16. Work on Advertising banners to "sell" to raise money for the club
