Minutes from February 4

Next Board meeting Thursday, March 4 at 6:00 pm at Denny's on Front street

1. Flagman
A. Met Jim Williams who is willing to be trained to be the Flagman for KCKA's 8 races
* Be at the track by 9:30 am
B. Will need 1 or 2 back ups

2. Race Schedule – want to be done by 3:00 or so
A. Want to start exactly at 10:00 and maybe 9:30 when it gets hot

3. Concession Stand
A. Dennis may know a Deli truck that will come out for lunch time
B. Club will sell only water

4. Track Repairs
A. Complete Concrete gave the recommendation to just grind the surface
B. Jason Earls & John Baird to give estimate for a lot of the work
* Cut in for drains,
* Rent the equipment. $70 for saw, $40 for blade, $70 for tapper,
* Need approx. 20 yards at $105 per yard
C. Club members to do the sealer
D. Track CLOSED for approx. 2 weeks

5. Gate at the track put up while the track repairs are done

6. Covered board to be put up with club information on it.

7. Need to add John Quigley, Dennis Brandon, and Lisa Earls on the KCKA checking account

8. Car Car plans on being open for every race.

11. Kid Kart to have “engine tech” before the race for the first couple of races so there are no surprises
A. Tech to be educational for new karters
B. Still have post race tech

15. PA system to be bought for 2010 – Dennis will get from Radio Shack for approx $300
A. Need 3 speakers

13. Club to sell MG yellows this year
A. Price is up $2.50 per tire for 2010

14. Dennis will get the club stuff from Angela and inventory it
A. Need to get mail out of the PO Box

15. Have yard signs made for race day to put at intersections
A. Dave Winslow to redo the KCKA sign at the entrance
B. Dave Winslow to produce flyers to be posted – Ford, GM, & Harley plants

16. Dave Winslow is working on a mock up for the custom metals for awards

17. Races on June 19 & 20 to be a trophy race called the “Liberty Cup”
A. Special points race caluclated for the weekend - both Sat & Sun races.
B Separate races with 2 days points combined for weekend trophies.
C. Add laps to each race. Maybe 20 laps per race.
D. Points also collected for season championship as well

18. Add laps to all races at each event, TBD.

19. Need to get club By-Laws from Angie and have them posted on the website

20. Lisa to get with Angie concerning the Insurance
A. Pit Wrist Band – Is for insurance purposes

21. Dave Winslow to get 2 Handicap signs for parking for the races

22. Non-Profit status – Does the club need it? Cost approx. $2500
A. Mike Blair to get with an accountant to ask about advertising write offs for companies
B. If a company wants to support/donate we sell them advertising banners, their write-off goes under advertising instead of charitable donation.

23. Board to meet at the North KC Community Center at 1:30 for the Feb 20th meeting.
A. Dave Winslow to print out hand-outs for the meeting

* After race tech list
* Meeting agenda
* Race day schedule & Race event schedule

24. Next Board Meeting at the Denny's on Front Street
